Auction Time

This is it, the school auction is TOMORROW and we can’t wait to show you all we have in store! This is the biggest fundraiser of the year and so much time and planning has gone into each aspect to make this not only a fundraiser, but also a special evening for you to enjoy.
Consider this your guide to the auction, we want to share all the details and tidbits to help make this a fun event!

On to the fun stuff! Auction Night!

I mean, we could just ask you all to donate your money but what’s the fun in that??? Why not have a big party, dress up and THEN take your money! Let us walk you through the night, what to expect and some tips along the way!

Every year, brilliant minds come to together to conjure up an amazing theme that will wow the crowds. From Back to the Future, Secret Garden, Harry Potter, Charlotte’s Web, Dr. Seuss, Grease and this year Masquerade Ball! What better theme for our first official OFFSITE auction!

With so many amazing experiences to choose from, you may just sign-up for them all!! Our community parties not only bring families together but they are a huge part of our auction bringing in $12,000 ALONE last year.

Auction is around the corner, just one week from Saturday. It’s time to get excited!!!! Here is a quick list of what to expect, questions answered and some party tips!

  • Why are we here?
    • Besides a good time? The auction is our BIGGEST fundraiser of the year. Without your support, your contributions, your time and effort, your compassion, your help, your LOVE for our children ~ without YOU we couldn’t do what we do at Skyline! This event helps us raise funds to keep class sizes small, offer Spanish instruction to our primary grades, pay for field trips, support and supplies for our classroom teachers, pay for books and so much more! Anything you can do to help support OUR STUDENTS is valuable! And we also want to see your costumes!!!!!
  • Costume ~ yay or nay?
    • Costumes are definitely encouraged, it’s so much fun to see everyone get into the spirit. But surely aren’t required! You can show up in a 3-piece suit or jeans and a flannel and you’ll be JUST FINE! We just want to see you there having a good time!
  • What time does everything kick off?
    • The pre-party begins at 3:00 at the Skyline Grange. The auction begins at 5:30 at the school. Consider carpooling as parking is tight at both the Grange and school.
Please be advised, PPS informed us that security will be present during our event on-site at the school.
  • Is there a cost to attend the auction?
    • Nope, our auction does not have a fee to attend. Beer, wine and
hor d’oeuvres are offered at the Pre-Party for $10 per person. There is also food at the auction itself for $10 per person.
  • Do I have to purchase anything from the auction?
    • There is no requirement to buy anything or spend a minimum amount of money. We keep our auction budget friendly and there are many items that would appeal to any budget. Find some great deals during our silent auction, some individual class projects or desserts to snack on! Do what you can, every penny counts! It’s also a night for families to mix and mingle and get to know each other.
  • How do I know what is going to be there?
    • A very detailed catalog will be sent home with your oldest child on Monday, be sure to be on the lookout! I LOVE getting the catalog! Think of it like getting a new magazine in the mail. Grab a cup of coffee or tea, a highlighter or sticky notes and start marking all the fun things you’re interested in! You can always peruse the catalog online as well, but I can’t guarantee the fun since you can’t use sticky notes or a highlighter!
  • Are there pictures that I can check out from previous auctions?
  • HELP!

Most of all, please COME to the auction! It’s a great time and we are very excited to kick off another year in the books! For more auction details, check out the Auction Page!

9ac4c14484c578ad2f91ba757d0c8297Special Deal ~ Gourmet Whole Bean Coffee

Skyline PTA fundraiser
The Compak “Golden Bean” coffee roasters competition and conference just wrapped up in Portland and has donated specially roasted whole bean leftovers to Skyline. Many of you purchased bags of coffee last year, what a great deal!!!!

You can purchase a 6 – 8 oz “mystery roast” bag of premium whole bean coffee for $5 each. Limited supply available, bags will be sold
THIS THURSDAY at Back to School night!

Make your checks to Skyline PTA or have exact change in cash.

The coffee was roasted for this national competition and placed into bags with a random number assignment so we can’t predict the kind of roast or the company that roasted it. We can promise delicious premium coffee from roasters across the U.S. and a good benefit for Skyline. All proceeds go directly to the Skyline PTA.

The owners of Compak Golden Bean are friends of Kelley Weigel’s dad and step-mom, Rod and Jan Weigel, who own Fresh Cup coffee/tea trade magazine.

Skyline families,

I would like to facilitate a Parent Support Group. I envision it to be a confidential and safe place for Skyline parents to talk about challenges they might be facing, as well as an exchange of ideas and strategies. From mental health differences like autism and anxiety, social difficulties and discipline, parenting is tough, and no one should have to do it alone!
If you are interested, please let me know via Facebook Messenger, or through email at In your message please let me know days of the week/times work best for you and if childcare would be a necessity for you to attend, along with any questions you may have about the group.
