Envelope Stuffing
Wednesday, August 22nd

Chat with friends and make new ones while helping stuff back-to-school materials into packets to be sent home with students on the first day of school. The more people who come, the sooner we will be done!

**Older kids are welcome to jump in and join the assembly line.** We’ll be in the gym!

Back to School Pizza with Principal
Thursday, August 23rd

Come to Skyline’s first ever Back-to-School Pizza Night with Principal Aguirre and teachers!

Elementary and 7th/8th graders can chat with Principal Aguirre, meet teacher(s), visit classroom(s), and drop off school supplies. Incoming 6th graders and new middle school students will participate in “middle school boot camp” in the library.

Incoming kindergartners, this is our last official play date of the summer! Introduce yourselves to another family, catch up with those you met in June, meet Mrs. Porter, and visit the classroom.

Enjoy FREE pizza!
BE GREEN: bring your own water bottles.

Back to School Breakfast
Monday, August 27th

All are invited to the PTA’s annual Back-to-School Breakfast in the library on Monday, August 27, after drop off.  This is an excellent time to introduce yourself to someone new, and catch up with those you have not seen since June.

  • Parking!: On the first day of school, expect congestion! Parking will be a challenge. Please plan ahead, and be mindful of children and buses.  Also, please do not park in spots reserved for a family generous enough to have purchased that spot at last spring’s auction.  Thank you!

Back to School Mom’s Hike
Monday, August 27th
After drop off + breakfast

After the kiddos are settled in, and you have grabbed a bite in the library, join Abbey Poizer and other Skyline moms on a four-mile hike through Forest Park, followed by lunch at the Skyline Tavern.  Don’t hike?  Join us for lunch!  Bring a water bottle and let Abbey know if you are sticking around for lunch so she can let the Tav know (email:

Kindergarten Family Coffee + Donuts
Thursday, August 30th

Kindergarten families, join us in the library after drop off on August 30 for some donuts and conversation!

Friday, September 7th

This Skyline tradition is not to be missed!  Join us for our 47th annual community festival filled with live music by the Ron Murvihill Band, games and crafts for the kids, the sale of Skyline t-shirts, a produce sale and exchange, a delicious chicken meal, and FREE all-you-can-eat corn.  Bring your own picnic blanket & chairs, and help us maintain our green status by bringing your own plates and utensils.  See y’all there!

Free/Reduced Lunch

This is the time to apply for free/reduced lunch for the school year. Often times folks may not even realize they qualify. All the information is confidential and processed through the district level. Why is it important? The number of students that qualify are a direct impact to funding for our school. As our percentage of those qualified increases, the possibility to receive funding (such as Title 1) increases. So take a minute, read through the details. If you qualify, your information remains confidential! Not only are you eligible for free/reduced lunch at school but many city and local programs offer discounts for qualified families. Something worth considering. You can apply here:
